ExemptPURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to fulfill Financial Center First CUs vision of inspiring financial wellness.
The position must deliver high quality service to both internal and external members by supporting and promoting our values to Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.
This position builds brand awareness for business and personal services offered by the Credit Union by developing highly effective relationships with businesses, organizations, local government, and key influencers in our northern markets.
The AVP of Community Strategies is responsible for leading all aspects of territory growth, to include community involvement resulting in consumer and business membership, asset and loan growth in Muncie and Kokomo.
Key responsibilities include development of business strategy to support growth goals, provide focus on balanced scorecard objectives, build brand value in a defined market area, and make joint calls with other key line of business employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Achieve monthly deposit and loan referrals goals established to support the business plan of the credit union
Develop and establish Work Perks and HSA relationships in Muncie and Kokomo and consistently call on existing relationships to achieve credit union goals for sales and loan production goals
Work with other credit union staff/departments to fulfill member or business loan opportunities uncovered during the sales and relationship building process
Active and independent identification and analysis of new business opportunities within the assigned territory that result in uncovering new commercial loan, deposit and cash management solutions and services
Implement business strategies that support the Credit Union balanced scorecard objectives
Actively involved in the community and building community relationships.
Create new and develop existing business and member relationships for loan and deposit growth and attainment of new business for the credit union.
Create strategic partnerships that will make Financial Center highly visible in the community.

Analyze current business opportunities and ability to create compelling business package solutions, complete with detailed analysis
Ability to identify product or service gap opportunities to credit union management to help meet the changing needs of personal and business consumers
Understanding of business processes to ensure maximum engagement between the business community and our entire credit union including Financial Wellness, Retail, Commercial and Investments
Strong partnering approach with a commitment to meeting internal and external business partners' unique needs and expectations
Participates in development of annual budget for the territory and responsible for adherence to the budget
Uses own judgment to make exceptions to normal procedures when circumstances warrant and when deviation can be justified
Performs other duties commensurate with this positionDESIRED BACKGROUND:

Bachelors Degree in Sales or Business Administration, or 5 years equivalent work experience in a retail banking or sales environment is preferred
Should have at least 5 years proven sales experience
Ability to work sales process with team leadership skills
Deep understanding of business banking products, services, compliance, and potential loss/risk issues that impact Credit Union operations
Proficient and demonstrable experience in business development with results
Flexibility required in daily schedule.
Ability to work events on occasional week night or weekends
Strong knowledge of commercial loan products, sufficient to have initial conversations with prospects, qualify leads and refer quality business
Excellent independent work skills required
Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and will be required to learn credit union core systems
Within 90 days, must possess a thorough knowledge of Credit Union bylaws, policies, procedures and laws effecting operations of the Retail Centers.
As well as Credit Union products and services, processes and systems WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work requires physical mobility within the general work area and trips to area business and community functions.
Assignment of multiple Center locations will require the ability to travel between the Centers on a moments notice and during high traffic levels.
Reliable transportation is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
