The Inventory Specialist is responsible to receive, issue inventory and charge supplies and equipment. Validates all paperwork and computer data entry with listed activities. Provides excellent service and is efficient at all times.QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Must have the ability to lift 100 lbs. and be able to stoop, bend and twist while handling these weights.
Must have the ability to follow up on messages and to complete the request.
Must have the ability to stoop, bend, kneel and reach on a frequent basis.
Must have the ability to use repetitive motions such as grasping, fine manipulating, medium dexterity, forearm/wrist rotation movement area used daily.
High school graduate with 1-2 years inventory/supply chain experience is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge can be acquired.
Must have a valid Indiana driver?s license at all times and have an approved driving record.
Computer experience and knowledge of medical/surgical supplies preferred.
Knowledge of basic computer operations preferred.
Must have the ability to pull freight on pallet jacks that weigh up to 2 tons.
Must have the ability to drive hospital vehicles.
Must have the ability to frequently bend and stoop. Must have the ability to do heavy lifting and moving 55-gallon drums.
Must have the ability to solve problems when filling requisitions with incorrect information.
Must have the ability to analyze monthly inventory reports to increase turns, reduce out of stocks, and become more efficient.
Requires effective communication skills, oral and written.
Must have the ability to frequently work in a standing position.
Must have the ability to do large amounts of walking.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, patients, or personnel, floor personnel, and others on a one-to-one basis using appropriate language.
Must have the ability to evaluate problem situations and come to a conclusion to resolve the problem.
Must have the ability to use independent judgment and discretion.
Must have the ability to prioritize assignments best for patient and department needs.
Must have the ability and capacity to document in a clear and concise fashion with appropriate grammar and word usage.
Must have the ability to perform basic computer functions.
Must have the ability to exhibit precision and attention to detail so that complicated and/or multifaceted assignments can be completed with a high degree of exactness.
Must have the ability to exhibit good listening and reading skills.
